A scholarship of $750 will be awarded to two or more deserving students of a BRMTA active member to participate in a summer music enrichment experience between June 1, 2024 and September 1, 2024. The summer enrichment activities could include study with an artist or college level teacher, recording projects, composition classes. 
  Students must have studied with their present teacher for at least six months prior to the application date (May 5, 2024) and must have entered grades 5-11 in the 2023/2024 academic year.
 
  Each student will write a proposal indicating his/her intentions for summer enrichment. Enrichment activities could include but are not limited to a summer music camp, study with an artist or college level teacher, recording projects, composition classes, etc. Included in the proposal should be past musical experiences, goals for the future, and a projection of total expenses for the proposed project. A recommendation from the student's teacher is required. 
 
  A minimum grade point average of 2.5 is required of all applicants )official transcript required). Students who have won the scholarship previously may apply the following year; however preference will be given to new applicants.
​The scholarship will be paid directly by BRMTA to the student and is dependent upon the merits of the student's detailed proposal. Should the project be cancelled for any reason the student must contact the scholarship chairman as soon as possible.
 
  The student will be notified of the selection by the end of May. The selected student will be expected to attend the first Fall 2024 BRMTA meeting and give a brief summary of their summer experience.
